Emotional Intelligence Is Overrated (Sort Of)
Emotional intelligence has become the buzzword of the corporate world, but the science behind it is messier than the TED talks suggest. The concept has been oversimplified and oversold.
That doesn’t mean emotions at work don’t matter—they absolutely do. But the idea that EQ is more important than IQ, or that it can be easily measured and trained, doesn’t hold up to scientific scrutiny.
